vBarter - Can sellers can post sales to any buyer
Posted by Bruce Kamm on December 21 2013 01:02 AM

Q: It seems a seller can simply post a sale to any buyer whenever they want to.  What is to stop an unscrupulous seller from posting transactions from different buyers on the drop down list?

Hopefully you have a relationship with your clients whereby bogus transactions won't happen. But, note that you receive a notification of every transaction by email, so if you see numerous transactions by a seller, you would probably know something is not right.

You can turn off auto-approvals on a member by member basis if you don’t trust a member. You would then have to manually approve each of their postings in order for the transaction to complete.

FYI, Almost all exchanges use auto-approve, as turning it off slows down transactions, trade velocity and also creates more administrative work, as all parties to the transaction must approve the transaction when auto-approve is turned off.
